Old Miami Beach homes
Many people are a fan of old Miami Beach homes and the historic, real estate market. Anyone who is coming from different places in the US and even South America or Europe, should know that historic homes of Miami Beach, will refer to houses built from the early 1900's to the 50's which represents the mid-century architecture.
There have been two different types of old Miami Beach home buyers. The first one is a group of buyers who are interested in historic preservation, and searching for houses that have not been butchered with the purpose of making them look more like the original houses when built. The second one is a group of buyers that love the idea of having an old home but do not care about its restoration or preservation. There are still a few things to consider when buying old Miami Beach homes, no matter what group a person belongs. The first thing to look for is any sign, which will indicate if a house has been gone through any transformation throughout the years that might have changed its original character. Other things to notice are its features, and whether they had remained intact from when the house was initially built or not.
Original old Miami Beach houses used a roof with historic Cuban tiles. They also used Cuban and quarry tiles for its flooring and should have original fixtures and tiles in the bathrooms. Stairway railings and balconies used decorative metal framing, and the house should still have wooden single or double hung or wood casement windows. Also, make sure that old Miami Beach homes still have its original fixtures like pulls, knobs, door hardware and lamps.
