It is no secret that Miami Beach Luxury Real Estate has been attracting celebrities of all kinds for decades. From athletes and actors, to business executives and star entrepreneurs, just about anyone rich and famous has had some involvement in this coveted real estate market.
So when basketball star Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder recently sold his downtown Miami penthouse for over $3 million, few took notice – such high powered transactions are par for the course in this rich and dynamic property market.
According to The Miami Herald, the nearly 3,800-square-foot unit is located at 900 Biscayne, one of the most coveted high-rise condominiums in the city. Selling for $830 per square foot, the closing was a record for the luxury building.
The buyer was a Colombian businessman who plans to rent out the three-bedroom, four-bathroom condo for an incredible $22,000 per month. It is all the more enticing given its beautiful bay views and full furnishings.
The penthouse was bought by Durant in 2011 for $1.825 million, and was originally listed for $3.45 million before being sold for $3.1 million.
High-profile sales and purchases like this prove what incredible opportunity Miami has to offer. With so much inventory spanning luxury penthouses, waterfront estates, and so much else in-between, there is something for every investor or lifestyle.
