Miami-Dade is Getting a Mega MallMay 13, 2015
American Dream Miami is a mega-mall theme park proposed for northwest Miami-Dade, at the intersection of Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 75 near Miami Lakes.
The four-member Cabinet approved 82 acres of state land to Miami-Dade for $12.3 million. Then the state will sell it to American Dream Miami developer for the same amount.
Triple Five, the creator of the project and owner of the largest mall in America, Minnesota’s Mall of America, wants to create a source of employments and a mega-mall theme park that can attract visitors from all over the world.
American Dream Miami is projected to cost as much as $4 billion to build and it will employ 25,000 people once opened.
Triple Five said in a statement that “it is our intent that this project will exceed our other world famous projects in all respects.”
This mega-mall proposal shows that is large enough to have its own indoor ski slope on the western side, and a sea-lion habitat on the eastern side. American Dream Miami is going to be much more than a mall destination.
