Phil Collins Bought Jennifer Lopez Former Mansion for $33 million
June 23, 2015The Miami real estate market is excellent for investors from the United States and other countries. Which is why the singer of Genesis, Phil Collins, recently bought a Miami Beach mansion for $33 million. Located at 5800 North Bay Road this home once belonged to pop star Jennifer Lopez.
Jennifer Lopez sold this sprawling mansion with 12,153 square feet in 2005 for $13.9 million, and the buyer spent three years renovating it. Work included the removal of the roof and the reconfiguration of all rooms on the second floor.
Phil Collins is frequently seen at fundraisers in Miami, and will probably be seen after this selling. This Mediterranean style home was originally on the market for $37.5 million. Built in 1929 and extensively renovated since then, this waterfront mansion has seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and three half-baths.
The house features an elevator, bar, open balcony, an interior courtyard with koi pond, dock, a 60-foot swimming pool, cabana with outdoor kitchen, gymnasium, wine cellar, roomy master suite whose closet alone measures roughly 1,000 square feet, and 200 feet of frontage that provides a view of the downtown Miami skyline overlooking Biscayne Bay.
