South Florida Home and Condo Sales Grow Strong in September
December 5, 2014After experiencing a rocky month of August, it seems that home and condo sales in South Florida went through quite a growth in September as Florida Realtors witnessed.
Last September, there were 3,827 single-family home sales in the tri-county area that were up by 12.2 percent a year ago. The median sale price during this time was $265,000, a 3.1 percent gain. Though, it’s still not as robust as the statewide growth. The state of Florida saw sales grow 13.5 percent in September with the median spaces price up 5.9 percent to $180,000.
Also, South Florida had a drop in the condo market sales in the month of August, but then made a comeback in September. During this time, there were 3,796 condos and town homes sold, a 2.2 percent increase. Also, the median sales price grew 13.3 percent to $150,000.
As far as condos and town homes, South Florida outperformed the statewide market, where sales grew 2 percent and the median sale price increases 9.8 percent to $142,700.
Through all of this, inventory has stayed at a range that shows a balanced market. Plus, on the lower end of the market, where listings haven’t increased, there is continued pressure. There is also more happening in the luxury side of the market with investors and foreign buyers still showing activity in the market for townhouses and condos.
